Sound Of Music - II (1987)

In 1987, 5 from the 12 participants of that year's Melodifestivalen had already participated on the year before. Sound Of Music were one of these. This year their song was Alexandra, which placed in the 4th position again. This album was released on cd and nowadays it is very difficult to find. In my opinion it's much better than their debut.

Lena Philipsson - Lena Philipsson (1995)

After her flop album Fantasy bombed everywhere, Lena decided to go back to her roots and made one album sung entirely in Swedish and produced by her long-time collaborator Torgny Söderberg. The result was this excellent album that was a step away from cheesy euro-pop songs but that would still please her fans. The first single was Månsken I Augusti, a song different from everything she had made before. But the strongest and definitely the most popular was the ABBAtastic Stjärnorna. My favourite song here is Kärlek Kommer Med Sommar.

Lena Philipsson - Dansa I Neon (1987)

Dansa I Neon was Lena's second album but it was the first one released on cd, so it included 4 tracks from her debut album Kärleken Är Evig. This is a great pop album and should please any 80's fan. Dansa I Neon placed 5th on Melodifestivalen in 87, I won't make any comments about it because in my opinion she should have won Eurovision with this song.
The second single from the album was the only song in English in the album, Cheerio, but it's b-side, Det Går Väl An, became more famous.

Sound Of Music - Sound Of Music (1986)

Sound Of Music was the first band to feature Nanne and Peter Grönvall (son of Benny, from ABBA). In 1986 they became very famous after participating in Melodifestivalen with the song El Dorado. Their first album featured the singles One More Lonely Night, Eldorado, Blue Magic Woman and Self Erection.

The album version of El Dorado is in English, different from the Melodifestivalen version. The 12'' version of it is the original extended version from the single and features the original Swedish lyrics.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find track number 6 (Blue Magic Woman), if you have it, please contact me!
I'm also in need of a better quality image of the cover!

Kayo - Kärleksland (1993)

Kayo is more well-known as being one third of Afro-dite, the disco trio that won Melodifestivalen 2002. But long before she joined the group she had released some albums and this one is a very good record. All the songs were written by Orup. The first single was Om Natten and it became a hit for her. The album peaked at the 13th position.

Anna Book - Let's Dance (2006)

In 2006 Anna Book participated in Let's Dance (the Swedish Version of Dancing With The Stars). She finished second and was a big surprise to everyone. After the end of the show she released this cd with cover versions of some songes that she danced during the tv-show. The song Andalucia was released as a single and became a big hit for her, peaking at #4 in the Swedish charts.

Nanne - Jag Måste Kyssa Dig (2007)

I love Nanne! She is so funny and talented that there's no way for me not to adore her. This album, released shortly after her participation in Melodifestivalen 2007 with the album's title track, is just great. Even though she didn't go to the final round, the song was a top 20 hit and the album stayed in the charts for 21 weeks. The single Pissenisse was also a big hit from it. Don't miss Kom Hit and Skor, they are great songs too.
